Chocolate Martinis and Crashing Weddings

Okay, no post for awhile, but I was in training last week and it sorta sucked my will to live. I am calling Metro PD today and seeing if there is anything I can do to speed up the background check process. Training sucked badly, made more so by a horrible trainer with much more attitude than knowledge who seemed to have it out for yours truly. I guess she was mad that she was an unattractive, middle-aged trainer at a Missouri food stamp office and I was in the back row flirting with a cute blonde and obvious in my intent to leave this place as soon as possible. But I digress...

I'm not going to rehash the boring week I had, except for one part about going to SLU across the street and feeding the ducks and fish in the big pond near the gazebo. A friend and I did that on our lunch breaks, and while it was nice, it made going back to training all the more unbearable...

But anyway, Friday night Jen came over and we hung out. We sorta just took it easy. I fell asleep on the couch with her rubbing Cocoa Butter on my feet around 7:30 and never really regained consciousness until the morning. Nice.

Saturday Jen and I went to Courtesy Diner, then I took her to work. After that I rode to Farmer's Market, got my veggies and some cherries for Krystal, then I cleaned up and worked out. Later that night Brandon, Krystal, Jen and I all went to the Chocolate Bar. It was very hip on the inside, and they specialize in chocolate (duh), cheeses, wines, martinis, and beers. I drank a Chocolate Mexican Martini that had tequila in it and reminded me of airplane fuel. But by the time I finished it I loved it. We drank a lot and ate even more cheese - it was quite the evening. Kudos to Krystal on her first night out away from Zenora - she didn't freak out once (Krystal, that is).

On Sunday Jen and I went to Target and the Galleria. At the Galleria we saw Wedding Crashers - 7 out of 10, with most points going for outrageous humor and most points lost by a second half that meanders a bit much. Then later that evening I made dinner and my parents stop by on their way home for a party to pick up the Cardinals' Brick I've mentioned before.

Oh, the Cardinals swept Houston! Carpenter rocked the mound. The Cy Young Award should be a lock.

I watched a great program on PBS about the Newark, NJ mayoral election in 2002 that makes Karl Rove look like an alter boy... and I should now, I used to be one. Check it out at http://www.pbs.org/previews/pov_streetfight/

Okay, that's it for today. I'll post more tomorrow or the next day. Something deep, maybe political. I feel like I'm not really living up to the Sociology title of this blog otherwise. Anywho...

Lilly says hi!!
